- What is your privacy policy?
We respect your online privacy. We will not give-away, rent, or sell your
personal information to any other individuals or businesses. This information is
used solely by us for order processing or, if at your request, to send you a monthly
newsletter. Your information is safe with us. Please for more information if necessary.
- How long has the World of Escher web site been around?
The World of Escher web site was an idea thought up back in December 1994.
By February 1995 the web site was carefully put together and published to the
Internet. (This was back when Yahoo was only a list, Amazon was just an idea,
and Netscape Navigator was at version 1.0.) In July 1998, we moved to our own domain
name www.worldofescher.com, where we have been
ever since. From the beginning, the web site has increased in both size and the
number of visitors each and every month and we expect this to continue.
- Do you have a search engine?
Yes we do! We call it Agent Escher, and it
can help you find products ascociated with all of M.C. Escher's artworks (currently 80
different artworks). You can also search by price and/or type of product. From
the results page, you can click on the finger to be taken to the product or you can click
on the Add to Cart button to purchase the item before you leave.
- Do you have a information about M.C. Escher's life?
Yes we do. It is located within the Library as the Biographical Chronology of M.C. Escher.
- What books do you recommend reading?
We highly recommend His Life and Complete Graphic
Work and Visions of Symmetry. The latter book
includes all of his tessellations and the former is the complete catalogue of his graphic
work, including biography.
- I am doing a school report. What do you suggest for me at your site?
For a quick "book report tour", be sure to visit these sections:
The Library, for some good essays and a Biographical Chronology.
Also, you should check out the Gallery. Each artwork has some
insightful annotations.
And last, a visit to our Newsletter Archive should
be helpful as it contains stories and tidbits of information.

- How much is shipping and handling for items purchased from your store?
On our shipping and handling page, we have
estimated shipping and handling prices for most of our products to almost every continent.
While these are only estimates, we try to keep very close to these prices.
You may request a quote within the special instructions on our order form.
- Is your checkout processing secure?
We use only the highest form of encryption for the handling of your purchase with
us. When you click the Check Out button, from any page within the site, you will be
taken to the "secure" part of our web server. All of the information that is sent between you and our server is encrypted for your protection, this is accomplished using Secure Sockets Layer(SSL) and this is why the web address changes to an https:// . You can feel safe communicating with us in this fashion.

- "Which hand did Escher use to draw the 'Hand with Reflecting Sphere'?"
"We will have to start with the fact that a lithographic image is an ink print of a
drawing etched in stone or metal. It will also help if you have the image in question in
front of you. It appears from the print that Escher is holding the sphere in his left
hand. However, the print is a mirror image of the original lithograph etching. So, hold
the print of Hand With Reflecting Sphere up to a mirror to see that it is his right hand
that holds the sphere and Escher is drawing with his left hand."
- I think that I have an original "Escher".
What is it worth? Is it authenticate? How can I tell? How
should I sell it? How do I buy an original?

As our copyright notice states, you need to get in touch with Cordon Art B.V. as
they are the copyright holders. Without their explicit permission, you will be
breaking International Copyright laws. You can read more about this at their web site. Click on the Copyright link at the
bottom left. Here you will find information on how to submit permission requests for
images and text reproduction, for books, magazines, brochures, advertising, etc.
- Who do I contact for using images and/or information that is on the World of
Escher web site?
We will grant permission to use our information on a case by case basis.
Please let know what you are wanting
to do and we will work with you to meet your needs. If you plan on using images from
our web site, you will need permission from both Cordon Art and
us.

We have been sending out our newsletter every month since June 1999. You
can find all of our Escher bits of information on our Newsletter

Our low volume list may be signed up for here.
Your name will automatically be entered into our monthly drawing for a free $9.95
poster.
- How do I remove myself from your newsletter list?
Your email address may be removed by submitting the form on this web page.

You may change your email address from the page.
- How do you determine the winner of your free newsletter posters?
Every month we randomly choose one person from our list. If we are unable
to contact them, we choose another until we do reach someone. They must give us
permission to use their name in our newsletter before we send out the newsletter. We
respect their privacy.
